The Gouno Community School has struggled over the years due mainly to the lack of teachers willing to accept a placement at this remote school . The deteriorating road conditions have resulted in the school being closed for 10 of the past 15 years. This in turn has created a generation of illiterate adults faced with a daily battle to survive as subsistence farmers.
This sad situation can be turned around through providing education for the children as well as adults. Education is empowering. When a people are educated they are able to make informed decisions and take control of their own destiny.
The Official Opening of our beautiful well equipped health Centre was scheduled for Nov 11th 2010
